C.P.R. engine shops in Chapleau in 1886. Engine No. 281 as shown was built by the Hinckley Locomotive Works 1883 for the C.P.R. It was a wood burning engine as denoted by the stacks. Fuel wood may be observed in the foreground. The site is the present west end of the C.P.R. shops.
